Documents held by PTSV may be subject to a request for access under the Freedom of Information Act 1982 (FOI Act).
PTSV receives all FOI requests directly (please see below for contact details). If a request is received that PTSV believes is more appropriate for the Department of Transport (DOT) or any other agency, PTSV will consult with the applicant and transfer the request as appropriate.
What information can be requested?
The FOI Act gives people and organisations the right to access documents about their personal affairs and the activities of government agencies, and the right to request that incorrect or misleading information held by PTSV about an individual or agency be amended or removed.
This access is limited only by the proper application of exceptions and exemptions provided for under the FOI Act. All documentation that is generated or held by PTSV has the possibility of being released in an FOI request. Exemptions are decided on a case by case basis.
How do I request information?
All requests should be directed to the PTSV FOI Officer.

The 45 day period begins when the FOI Officer has sufficient information to identify documents and the applicant has paid the appropriate application fee.
